Quick answer

Fareobuzz charges a flat service fee: $75 per domestic flight ticket, $100 per international ticket, $100 per business or first class ticket, $50 per hotel booking and $25 per car rental booking. Flight changes and cancellations carry a $50 handling fee; car rental changes $25. Cancellations inside the DOT 24-hour window are handled at no charge.

Prices quoted by a Fareobuzz agent are inclusive of the airline fare, any airline change or cancellation fee, and the Fareobuzz service fee — unless the agent states specifically that the quoted fare excludes the service fee. Fees charged by airlines, hotels, cruise lines and car rental companies are separate from the Fareobuzz service fee and are set by those suppliers, not by us. Fareobuzz service fees are non-refundable once a booking has been issued, because they cover work already performed.

How quoted prices work. Prices quoted by a Fareobuzz agent are inclusive of the airline fare, any airline change or cancellation fee, and the Fareobuzz agency service fee — unless the agent states specifically that the quoted fare excludes the service fee. Ask the agent to confirm which applies before you authorize payment — a legitimate agency answers that immediately and in specific dollars.
Service fees are non-refundable. Fareobuzz service fees are non-refundable once a booking has been issued, because they cover work already performed. The single exception is cancellation within the US DOT 24-hour window on an eligible booking, where the fee is refunded in full. Fees charged by airlines, hotels, cruise lines and car rental companies are separate from the Fareobuzz service fee and are set by those suppliers, not by us.

Charges set by others, not by us

These appear on your total but are not Fareobuzz revenue. We pass them through at cost.

A worked example

To make this concrete: a round-trip international economy ticket, New York to London.

Sample itemization (illustrative only — call for a real quote)
Line itemAmountCharged by
Airline base fare$620.00Airline
Taxes, fees and carrier charges$248.00Airline / governments
Seat selection (optional, 2 seats)$64.00Airline
Fareobuzz service fee (international)$100.00Fareobuzz
Total quoted and charged$1,032.00

In this example the agent would quote $1,032 as the all-in price. That single figure already contains the airline fare, the taxes and the $100 service fee — you would not be asked for anything further on top. If an agent ever quotes a fare that excludes the service fee, they will say so explicitly on the call.

These figures are an illustration of how a quote is structured, not an offer or an available price. Actual fares change constantly by route, date and demand. Call for a live quote on your specific trip.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Fareobuzz charge a service fee?

Because airlines pay agencies very little commission on most tickets, particularly in economy. The service fee is what funds an agent's time searching, advising, ticketing and — importantly — being available afterwards when something goes wrong. Charging it openly is better than concealing it inside an inflated fare.

Is the service fee refundable if I cancel?

No. Fareobuzz service fees are non-refundable once a booking has been issued, because they cover work already performed. The single exception is a cancellation within the US DOT 24-hour window on an eligible booking, where we refund our fee in full along with the fare.

Are there any fees you have not listed here?

No. This page is the complete Fareobuzz fee schedule. Charges set by airlines, hotels, cruise lines, rental companies and governments are separate and are quoted to you before payment, but they are not ours and we do not mark them up.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Quotes are free and carry no obligation. You are only charged if you approve a booking.

Will the fee appear separately on my card statement?

It depends on the supplier. On some bookings you will see a single charge from Fareobuzz covering the full amount; on others the supplier charges the fare directly and Fareobuzz charges only the service fee. The agent tells you which applies before you pay, and your emailed confirmation itemizes both. Either way, prices quoted by a Fareobuzz agent are inclusive of the airline fare, any airline change or cancellation fee, and the Fareobuzz agency service fee — unless the agent states specifically that the quoted fare excludes the service fee.

Do you charge more for a complicated itinerary?

No. The fees on this page are flat. A twelve-segment multi-city international itinerary is charged the same $100 international ticket fee as a simple round-trip. It means you are never penalised for having a complex trip.

Ask us what your trip will cost

You will hear the supplier fare and our fee as separate numbers, before anything is charged.
