Usually excluded: premium spirits and wines, spa treatments, motorized watersports, off-site excursions, and sometimes a la carte specialty restaurants that require reservations. Four to eight months for peak periods such as spring break, summer and Christmas — especially for family rooms and all-inclusive resorts, which sell out first. Two to four months is usually sufficient for shoulder season. Last-minute package deals exist but limit your choice of property and room category.

It is not mandatory, but it is worth serious consideration on a package because you have more prepaid, non-refundable money at risk than on a simple flight. Consider it especially if you are travelling with children, have any medical conditions, are booking during hurricane season, or the trip represents a significant expense. Yes. We book honeymoon and anniversary travel regularly and will note the occasion with the resort — many offer complimentary room upgrades, a bottle of sparkling wine or a special dinner when told in advance. These are courtesies from the property, not guarantees we can promise on their behalf.

Package suppliers and resorts have published policies for named storms, which typically allow rebooking when a hurricane warning is issued for your destination. Coverage varies significantly by supplier and by whether you bought travel insurance before the storm was named. We will explain your specific supplier's policy at booking, in writing.
